A Trip To Icon Park & Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive

Earlier this month my family and I went to Orlando for a long weekend. We wanted to enjoy some Disney Christmas magic and experience some new places on International Drive.

For two nights we stayed at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International in a family bunk room with two double beds. The room was super clean and Sebastian was so excited about the bunk beds.

The Wyndham Orlando Resort was so gracious to host our stay. When we opened the door to our room we were surprised with a cheese try and a bottle of red wine.

It was cold during our stay so unfortunately we were not able to enjoy their beautiful pools. Hopefully we’ll be back for a swim next summer.

We did have the opportunity to eat at their pool bar and grill, Gatorville on our first night. They have delicious food and great drink specials.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and very family and pet friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay.

One of our favorite things about the Wyndham Orlando Resort International was the location. It’s just a short walk to ICON Park where we spent a lot of our time.

Now through December 24th you can take your children to visit Santa at the ICON Park Santa Workshop Experience. Before you go, make a reservation for the best day/time that works for your party. We went on a Saturday morning, walked right in and had a wonderful time.

When you enter they check your temperature and ask you to sanitize your hands at their sanitization stand. Santa is behind plexiglass but is still able to have a great interaction with children. I was blown away by how great the professional photos came out. You can’t even tell there is plexiglass between my kids and Santa. The whole experience was magical and felt very safe. The entire staff was friendly and professional!

That night we rode The Wheel. It’s 400 feet tall, the tallest wheel on the east coast of the United States. It has a viewing distance of 57 miles.

Before entering the capsule there is a bar set up for you to purchase drinks. They offer beer, wine, mixed drinks, shots, soda, water and more! I highly recommend the chilled cocoa! It was so delicious that I bought the ingredients to make it myself at home.

Our entire party was able to fit in one capsule comfortably. The ride is 20 minutes long and very enjoyable. We went at night and loved seeing everything lit up for the holidays.

ICON Park is also home to many restaurants. One of my favorites is Blake Shelton’s, Ole Red. I can’t wait to go back and have a beer while listening to live music.
