Disney’s Port Orleans, French Quarter has quickly become one of our favorite resorts. They have yummy beignets, a pool with a fun sea serpent waterslide and a fantastic splash pad that our toddler LOVES!
In September 2019 I booked a stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, Riverside with my toddler and mother. After exploring the pool area and seeing that they did not have a splash pad, a cast member told us we could take a short walk to the French Quarter and use their splash pad. It was a beautiful, ten minute stroll from one resort pool to the next.
When we reached the French Quarter, bubba couldn’t wait to go into the aquatic play area that is designed for children under 48 inches. The sign says no lifeguard on duty but a lifeguard was walking around the play area the entire time we were there. The lifeguard made sure that kids were playing nicely and using the slides correctly.
The Doubloon Lagoon water play area offers two little waterslides, a small playground and splash pad type entertainment throughout. Just like the rest of the hotel, the aquatic play area is Mardi Gras themed.
Just outside the aquatic play area is the pool and sea serpent waterslide. The hotel offers free lifejackets to kids and adults. I always find that helpful since my little guy does not know how to swim. They also have a pool bar, Mardi Grogs, where everyday is Fat Tuesday!

We loved our time at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort. I decided to book another stay for bubba’s second birthday! We can’t wait to celebrate at the most magical place on earth!

I’ve been dying to go here as a Louisiana native!!! It looks so cute in your pics.
I think you guys would love it!
The French Quarter is our go to resort! My husband and I loved it there. It has such a small footprint, so it’s a nice escape from the bustle of the parks!
It really is great! Small but mighty!
