I’m Not An Overnight Success

I’ve worked for ten years on my business. I started a YouTube channel when I graduated from high school and have spent countless hours growing my brand. Most of those hours were spent in the silence of the night until sunrise or in between college classes and working full time.

Those TEN YEARS of hustle have lead me to this moment. This moment filled with opportunities, new connections and acknowledgment. I’m far from an overnight success. I’ve posted videos that no one watched, shared photos that were hardly noticed and talked about my passions with people who didn’t believe in me.

Now that I’ve achieved a small level of success so many people want to grab coffee and ask me questions. Don’t get it twisted, I’m happy to help in any area that I can. I strongly believe in women supporting women, supporting small businesses and helping each other grow. Plus, I love a good cup of coffee.

I just want you to know, there isn’t a “best kept secret” or a magic potion that will make you successful. It’s drive, passion, honesty, hustle and heart that will eventually set you apart.

In my ten years of being a content creator I have wanted to give up countless times. I have thought I’d never get noticed, I’d never have an actual brand deal and I’d never be able to vlog/blog full time. When you put so much time and effort into something for that long, the light at the end of the tunnel can seem very dim. However, I’m so thankful I never threw in the towel. I’m so happy that I kept moving forward even when it felt like no one noticed. The hours and sleepless nights that I put into growing my business have led me to this point.

I can finally say that I’m a FULL TIME content creator living my dream. I’m a mom boss who truly has the best of both worlds. I work with well known companies and have opportunities to travel and fine dine with the people who have supported me since day one.

It isn’t easy, there is no fast pass to the finish line. It takes time, passion and the undeniable belief in yourself and your dreams to accomplish your goals. You CAN do it and you WILL do it if you give it everything you’ve got. When it feels like you’re getting zero return on investment, keep going. Use Google to your benefit, join networking groups, make connections on Instagram, read books and listen to podcasts. The long hours you put in now will eventually pay off and you’ll be able to say you’re doing the damn thing just like me and instead of coffee we’ll cheers with champagne!

  1. Ok so I’m the lucky one who is actually your friend IRL and I remember when I met you, I was like “oh she sweet and cute. Oh, a mom, too? Oh, a foster mom? Oh, and a YouTube channel? THAT’S IT, CAN WE BE FRIENDS” lololol 🙂 I’m a real friend cuz I took most of these pics, haha! Very proud to know you and you are a role model for more than just social media. Also for living a good, wholesome life and doing good for the world around you, too. Keep it up!! Can’t wait to see what milestones you hit next!!!
